Starting with Article Marketing
Oldest trick in the book is to write and article for a magazine on how to treat something, then leave your contact info. You were probably paid to write the article - and got just as much traffic as the bimbo who paid for a page in the same magazine for up to $9,000.
You get free traffic that only cost you the time to write, while they get paid traffic that cost them the time to write a clever ad, and $9,000 big ones to post it. So article marketing is not new - it's just not as widely popular as paid because paid has faster results.

Idiot question: Free or Paid?
What do You Choose? Free or Paid?
To start any business it takes money. With the Internet you can get away with actually doing things that do not cost money and immediately start earning money. So in this blog I leave the choice to you.
It is definitely recommended that you at the very least become familiar with the free methods (i.e. writing articles) as this is always a great “free” technique that you will be able to use for safety if your initial PPC (pay-per-click the paid way for Internet marketing (idiots don't dare))ventures go haywire.
As a former idiot, it is my recommendation that you have an understanding of both Article, and PPC marketing. The two are often closely related and you can port a successful article marketing campaign into a PPC one and vice versa, which is the cool part.
PPC marketing definitely achieves quicker results as your ads can be shown almost instantly with Google or Yahoo and they will show up under the keywords that you specify. You can also super target your market and certain geographic regions, something that is not easily attainable with free techniques.
PPC marketing does cost money and although it is fairly easy to implement there is a downside. In the offline world, the fastest person to lose his or her money is an idiot. It's 10x faster on the Internet, esp with PPC.
If you start PPC marketing without taking advantage of learning resources available online from credible sources, you could easily end up losing TONS of cash.
The great part about article marketing and other free marketing techniques is that they are 100% free and you can “learn by doing” without having to risk your own money. While article marketing, you will learn some of the most important aspects of "Internet marketing including copy writing, creating sales pages, affiliate linking, researching industries, and how to understand your target audiences."
I suggest that if you are on a budget or do not feel comfortable with doing PPC marketing just yet, that you work on implementing free techniques like article marketing until you get a better feel for how PPC works.

Idiot Internet marketers Worse move
When I began Internet marketing some time ago (2004 to be exact), I didn't take the time to understand how all of this is tracked. So instead of fully learning Internet marketing; I created my own product and sold it myself.
Successful; yet a lot of work. Had I taken to the time to learn how affiliate marketing kept track of everything I would probably be further ahead of the game. Lean on my idiot mistakes here folks.
So here's the skinny:
Companies have something called affiliate programs that they use to track sales you make. When you sign-up to an affiliate program; you are given a unique sales link which you will then use to refer people to the company website. This link will uniquely identify you as the affiliate who made the referral of the visitor to their site. If the visitor ends up making a purchase, you will get paid.
There are many Internet marketers that are earning $1000’s each and every day promoting other peoples products. This may seem crazy, but it is the truth!
There are many different avenues you can take as an Internet marketer, and there are many different techniques to use. Before we get started here, you need to know that you DO NOT need to know everything in order to succeed.
As you get started, you will be much better off focusing on one Internet marketing technique and becoming an expert in that area than to diversify as a "jack-of-all-trade." If you take a look different professions you will see specialists always get paid more (a general practitioner does not get paid what a brain surgeon gets).

Idiot - What is Internet Marketing?
So, What Exactly is Internet Marketing?
Internet marketing is a number of things to many different people as there are many ways you can “market” on the Internet.
With this being said, Internet marketing is similar to the normal form of offline marketing in that you have two different entities: a consumer and a product.

Your job as an Internet marketer is to position these two entities in efforts to produce sales to either your website or an affiliate website. Do you have to own your own product? No, you need not own a product to succeed as an Internet marketer as there are 10,000’s of companies that are literally begging for marketers like yourself to promote their products/services online in exchange for a commission (how we get paid).
Why would a company want you to promote their product or service?
The reason why companies are extra eager to have you promote their product is because they would rather have a 1000 affiliates spending their own time and money then it would be to spend the company time and money on promotions and advertising in house. Not to mention that having 1000 affiliates promoting a product gives a company a LOT more reach to connect with potential customers. Does that make sense?
There are different types of payment structures which I will deal with in detail later, but typically companies will either give you a percentage of the sale (sometimes up to 90%) or a flat-fee kickback for any sale or lead that you generate (these range into the $100’s).
This can be the fun of Internet marketing once you get the handle on it. Keep hanging around here and you'll go from idiot Internet marketing to CASH-FLOW stud.

Wealthy Affiliate Gold
With a dragging economy; overpriced gas, food prices rising, and jobs being hard to find and keep, wealth affiliate (an affiliate marketing community) has launched a new program within their program called Wealthy Affiliate Gold.--
The dollar is getting weak (compared to the Euro), but gold has remained strong. So members can give WA Gold to other members for tutorials and other acts - which is cash able (redeemable) for, you guessed it - the weak US dollar. The thing is every member get a bar of gold each month to give away. So in essence, Kyle and Carson yet again are giving away money.
Not many other programs are doing this; and none giving away money. Internet marketers are eating at this. If you're an idiot like me in Internet marketing (more on why I'm an idiot and why I started this guide to stop future idiots), joining the wealthy affiliate community is one step to begin earning money for your Internet marketing career.
